Slide Wire Cable Awnings Defined
Slide wire cable awnings are elegant time-tested patio shades, popular in Europe and increasingly finding their way into the contemporary designs of architects, landscape designers and creative remodelers. The basic concept is a series of long parallel panels in outdoor canvas fabric, strung on cables with heavy-duty hardware clips. The fabric panels are then arranged in billowed overhead swales. Light peeks through the spaces between the panels, creating beautiful patterns on the surfaces below. Slide wire canopies have an added advantage over fixed patio canopies in that they may be fully retracted to allow more light, inside and out, whenever it’s needed. Slide wire cable awnings are made in beautiful, UV-rated Sunbrella canvas with premium lifetime thread. Hardware is stainless steel. For complete units, framework is custom-painted galvanized steel. Cable system patio canopies are available in three basic attachment configurations. Your sales representative will assist you in assessing the space to determine the best configuration to meet your individual needs.
- Complete unit (including custom-painted, galvanized steel frame)
- Attached to existing frame (for example: your existing wood beam patio cover)
- No framework (cables are attached to opposing walls, buildings or other sturdy structures)
